Jaume Domènech is synonymous with the pride, loyalty and devotion of a diehard Valencianista, and the goalkeeper is well aware of what he is representing when he wears the captain's armband.
Last season he was part of the side that enjoyed a first trophy win in 11 years, playing in the final of the Copa del Rey. But for the shot stopper the reward goes beyond silverware.
"It's an honour for me to be part of Valencia CF's history. This is the club that I've supported all my life, since I was little," he told VCF Media on the occasion of the October 9th celebrations.
"It's a dream come true to be captain and to represent all the Valencian people. It fills me with happiness and I'm going to fight to make sure that this lasts for many more years."
At the city's iconic Torres de Serranos towers, Jaume met with four young VCF Academy captains who share his passion for the club: Marc Ferris of VCF Mestalla, Rubén Iranzo of Juvenil B, Martín Tejón of Cadete A and Eloy Fernández of Infantil A. He put armbands on each of the players who dream of one day following in his footsteps and leading the first team.
